PowerFilledYouth TO's Black History and Diversity Productions
PowerFilledYouth TO's has worked with more than 1500 children and Youth over the past 5 years creating awesome black history month productions celebrating Canadian Black History, diversity, equity and inclusion. These students are of many different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and leave this experience learning more about themselves and each other.
So far we've touched on everything from immigration reform and inventors of Canada to the Civil rights Movement in the USA, the Mali Rule of 1336 in Africa, the history and natural resources of Jamaica, Trinidad and Guyana, Sri Lanka and Brazil, exploring various afflictions, experiences and contributions of people of colour along the way.
Our 2020 production entitled" SAY IT LOUD, BLACK & PROUD" will take our audience through some good, bad, ugly and majestic aspects of our rich Black history, in a fun, unique way.
We hope to continue to educate, entertaining and enlighten our peers, communities and city in the years to come!
